Travis has a solid genetic predisposition toward the construction industry coming from a family of masons including cousins, uncles, and his father. It was his father, however, who cemented his career by arranging an introduction to a respected architect while Travis was working as a brick tender during a summer break from college.
He went on to earn both a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Architecture and with more than 20 years in architecture, he still feels that the clay is not dry; his skills continue to be shaped by experience.
Travis believes that the best architects do not impose their design sensibility on a client. They are gifted with the ability to listen to their client’s wishes and turn that into a pleasing composition. He and Ryan had worked together previously and knew they would someday join forces.
Travis brings left-brain thinking to 42° North Architecture and 14 years of serving on township boards developed the insight to see things from both sides of the table: the best design coupled with the reality of how the municipal rules can work to maximize the potential of a project.
Travis is excited about the challenges each day brings and will function to smooth the path from design to construction documents taking projects to the finish line with no surprises.
“HE STILL FEELS THAT THE CLAY IS NOT DRY; HIS SKILLS CONTINUE TO BE SHAPED BY EXPERIENCE”
“Ryan is an excellent, experienced, caring, and thorough architect. He and his team really listens and takes all the very small details to heart and brings things to life.
My wife and I were never disappointed when he had absolutely no idea on what/where things should go in our house, but when we left it in Ryan’s hands, he always delivered in a big way when we told him to “surprise us”. Any worries or anxiety were put to rest each time we met to design and edit our plans.
We could not have done any of this project without him. Zero regrets.”
